Kontrovasi is a Nigerian-born rapper, singer, and songwriter whose sound defies convention. Emerging in 2015, he has crafted a fearless approach to storytelling and genre-blending — weaving together the spirit of Afrobeat, the soul of R&B, and the rhythm of modern hip-hop into a singular voice of a new generation.

Kontrovasi has worked with hitmakers like Masterkraft, a pioneer in Afrobeats; London, the multi-platinum producer known for shaping the sounds of REMA and Ayra Starr; Ozedikus, whose futuristic productions define the new wave of Nigerian music; and ANGELZ, a genre-bending creative whose forward-thinking approach mirrors Kontrovasi’s own.

His growing discography includes standout tracks like “Omo (Live),” “Keys,” “Lover,” and “For You”, each offering a different dimension of his artistry — from stripped-down vulnerability to soaring melodic hooks. In 2021, Kontrovasi co-wrote the breakout single “Bad Commando” alongside REMA and London — a milestone that positioned him within the creative force behind Nigeria’s new musical export wave.
